Why I Chose Fashion: A Journey of Passion and Expertise
I was recently asked why I chose this profession and how my experience ties in.
My love for all things art is the foundation of my passion for fashion. Fashion is a form of art that truly excites me. I revel in the process, from inspiration and conception to witnessing how a garment makes someone feel and how their personality shines through it. From a young age, I was captivated by the transformative power of clothing and its ability to express identity.
My training in Italy and time at Alexander McQueen allowed me to hone my skills and develop a unique design aesthetic. My passion for luxury led me to study business from a luxury perspective and work with top-tier brands like LVMH, Cartier, and VCA. These experiences have equipped me with a deep understanding of the luxury fashion industry and the importance of client centricity.
I chose this profession because designing brings me immense joy. Seeing a client put on an AISHA creation and witnessing the joy it brings to them is incredibly rewarding. Our clients’ happiness and the spark our pieces bring to their lives are at the heart of AISHA RTW.
Working with talented atelier artists, tailors, production teams, and manufacturers in New York, France, and Italy has been invaluable. These experiences have prepared me to expand AISHA RTW to Benin and create a luxury fashion brand that truly resonates with our clients.
